Berrow Vs Minehead


Plagued by injury and unavailability Berrow were only able to name 14 players Saturday despite their being no reserve team game.

This meant a first team debut for Ash Catlow and recalls for James Reddish, Simon Baunton, Mark Raymond and James Gass, the latter pair not having made a first team appearance since 2009. Chris Warner retained his place in goal after a man of the match performance in midweek meaning Niall Brown was among the outfield substitutes, so stretched were Berrow's resources.

TOR currently sitting in sixth place in the league table had been enjoying a run of successful wins since the turn of the year. As is the case now the Burnham elite have experienced a distinctive change of attitude from the teams that they have come up against, its clear that every team wants to put one on the current league leaders, and with Wyvern breathing down Burnham’s neck in the league the pressure is on Burnham to maintain the winning form. Berrow hosted Nailsea United, both teams having won their first two games. Berrow were unchanged from the previous game. Sam Ford making his debut on the bench. More



Nick Edrich is British ski stock novice Champion


Riding his Hydrospace S4 Nick had a superb weekend taking two wins in novice ski stock and his first win in expert ski plus a 2nd place also in expert.  This was enough to make him British ski stock novice Champion and runner up in Expert ski stock.  More.

FANTASTIC ‘PLATE’ WIN FOR ‘SUPER STAGS’ AT GULLIVERS RUGBY FESTIVAL


Burnham on Sea’s U12’s closed out their season in style at the two day rugby festival held at the B.A.S.C.  The prestigious Gulliver’s tournament features some of the top junior teams for all around the country and the U12’s once again proved that a committed team from a small catchment area can ‘punch above their weight’ with the right spirit and attitude.  More

15 Juniors and 4 Adults all took part in a grading session during the week commencing 22nd April and all were successful.  Credit where credit is due, they all trained hard and tried hard to gain their new belts and status within the Club. More

The Avenue Tennis Club’s monthly social tennis tournament coincided with the FA Cup Final and saw 28 players playing mixed doubles from 12 till 4:00 before retiring to the club house to watch the football on their large screen     More

First Avalon defeat of season for Brean


The Division Six Avalon League team from Brean Golf Club ended up on the wrong end of a whitewash  on their visit to Wells on Saturday. It spelt the end of the unbeaten start to the season enjoyed by both Brean teams up until this point.

Sand Yachts

Regatta on 3 and 4 March 2012.


Yachts sailed in near perfect conditions, on Saturday , but unfortunately races were cancelled on Sunday due to  waterlogged beach conditions after continual overnight  rain.

Tucker tops the Medal


Barrie Tucker returned both the lowest gross and net score of the day as he collected the Seniors March Medal at Brean Golf Club last week. Tucker took 80 shots to navigate the course and when his handicap of 12 was deducted his nett 68 was two better than anyone else in the field could manage More
